JOB DESCRIPTION – STEELWORKS DESIGN ENGINEER

Design of steelwork parts for Baggage-Handling-System (BHS) and Cargo Handling System (CHS)

Qualification:

• Technical degree in civil-engineering(steelworks specialization) or mechanical engineering

• At least 3 years experience in design of steelwork structures

• Ability to perform necessary calculations of steelwork structures (preferably with Bentley StaadPRO)

• Familiar with latest steelwork related standards (AISC, EUROCODE)

• Good knowledge of Tekla / X-Steel

• Excellent AutoCAD skills

• Ability to produce shop drawings, including cross-sections and interfaces

• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office

• Excellent written and verbal skills in English

• Ability to work in a team

• (German could be an advantage)

Main Tasks:

• Design steelwork platforms and conveyor supports in relation with BHS and CHS

• Continues coordination with relevant trades e.g. mechanical, electrical, MEP

• Layout - check of conveyors referring the building and steelwork

• Preparation of design calculations and documentations suitable for third party checking

• Preparation of workshop, installation drawings and bill of materials

• Provide engineering support during manufacturing

• Continues monitoring progress of fabrication and installation, attend progress meetings

• Provide site support for installation
